The Children's Memorial monument and garden is in remembrance of children who have died. It is dedicated to the parents, and all who grieve the loss of those children. Because life is sacred from conception to natural death, loss of life from accidents, illness, violence, victims of abortion and miscarriages--losing a child, for whatever reason, is a painful reality of this human life. This memorial is a way to recognize the sacredness of all life and reminds us to turn to the great consoler, Jesus Christ for Healing, consolation and strength. May it remind us to be passionately respectful for all life. May this be our hope. May it always be our prayer.
Parishioners of St. John the Apostle Church, Minot, gathered on Memorial Day for a special afternoon Mass to dedicate the Children's Memorial, a special monument and garden in remembrance of children who have died. It is dedicated to the parents and all who grieve the loss of those children.
According to Father Dave Zimmer, the idea for the Children's Memorial came from a number of sources, but the main idea came from the harsh reality of the loss of precious and innocent life.

"In the midst of great pain and grief, known by those who feel the loss of a child, there are heroic and inspirational stories of people who found consolation in their faith," said Father Dave. "The idea of the Children's Memorial came from such people who, despite their great sadness, professed a faith in Christ and perhaps spoke for many, many others who couldn't find the words."
